Muslims were behind SP's victory: Welfare Party leader

"Muslim vote played a crucial role in Samajwadi Party's landslide victory. Muslim representation has shot up to the highest-ever figure of 66 in the Uttar Pradesh (UP) assembly, with the community believed to have gone all out in favour of the winner, Samajwadi Party (SP). As many as 41 Muslims have got elected on the SP ticket, followed by 15 from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Just 4 Muslim candidates could make up on the Congress ticket, 3 from Peace Party, 2 from Qaumi Ekta Dal and one from Ittehade Millat Council.

As for the Congress, it’s not just in UP that Muslims rejected it, even in the Muslim majority seat of Malerkotla in Punjab they preferred to go with Akali Dal. In UP, the Congress’s magic mantra of ‘quota within quota’ clearly flopped, so much so that Union law minister Salman Khurshid’s wife Louise Khurshid trailed fifth from the Farrukhabad constituency. Salman Khurshid had risked the Election Commission wrath for enhancing this quota during aggressive campaigning.

While the outgoing assembly had 55 Muslim legislators — the highest since independence — the minority is no longer so in the newly-elected assembly, which has a record 66 legislators. Political analysts believe that Muslims overturned results in as many as 136 seats, with the main contenders — the SP and the BSP — fielding 85 Muslims each, while the Congress giving tickets to 59 Muslims. The BJP had fielded a lone Muslim candidate, Shakeel Alam from Sahaswan in Badaun district, who had to forfeit his deposit.

The 2012 results are being seen as en-masse endorsement of the SP and a rejection of Congress and small ‘Muslim’ parties by the Muslims in the state.

The Peace Party has won just four seats, while Rashtriya Ulema Council has drawn a blank. Shazil Islam Ansari, the lone winner from Ittehad Millat Council, was the wakf minister in the Mayawati ministry but denied a ticket by the BSP.

Secretary general of Welfare Party Dr SQR Ilyas told DNA that the Muslim vote played a crucial role in SP’s overwhelming victory. Explaining reasons for this shift, Dr Ilyas said the Muslim youth were being targeted in the Congress-ruled states even as Mayawati let loose a wave harassment. Also, Muslims have rejected the caste-based politics propagated by smaller Muslim political parties and instead exhibited unity by voting for SP en masse.

While professor and political analyst Dr Zahid Ali Khan of the Aligarh Muslim University said it was for the first time that the community overwhelmingly supported a single party, general secretary of All-India Milli Council Dr Manzoor Alam said the results were a warning for the Congress “The BSP neglected Muslims in a planned way in all spheres. Like other parties, it wanted to win over Muslims just on security issue,” said Alam

As for the reasons why Muslims rejected the Congress, Alam said it was mainly because the party continued targeting Muslim youth in terror charges.

“The Congress played a double game, it must appreciate that era of tokenism is over,” he added.

The debacle in local bodies election in Tamil Nadu and some thoughts

More than eleven brothers and sisters affiliated with the Islamic Movement contested in the just held local bodies eletion in Tamil Nadu. They were supported by the newly launched Welfare Party of India. Infact the state President of the welfare party Mr S. N. Sikkander toured, campaigned and strived for the victory of the canditates in fray. While the majority of them contested for the post of Corporator or Councillor one brother (Br A Syed Nazeer) contested for the Municipal Chairmanship. All of them have been defeated badly. Even the much hyped Janab T Ismail Sahib (the first member of Jamaat to get elected as councillor in the whole of country) too bited the dust.


The outcome is indeed sad and shocking. Ofcourse winning and losing a election is part of the game. But, it is sad that not a single soul managed to win. 


But, at the same time it is pleasing to note that thousands of voters across the state prefered to vote for these brothers and sisters. The fact that these canditates in their maiden attempt have succeeded in striking the chord with vast multitudes of people is itself reassuring. 


It should be noted that each and every single vote procured by these men and women is much more, more and more valuable than others. 


Because these are not the votes which were casted driven by the communal zeal or caste affiliation. These are the visa documents given by the noble for a dawn of new era.


These votes are not the one which are casted driven by the devotion to one's own party. These votes were casted by those noble souls who marched towards the polling booth attracted by the slogan மக்கள் பணம் மக்களுக்கே public money should be spent for the public alone.  


These votes were not bought for a few hundred rupees. Rather these are the votes of those illustrious sons and daughters of this great nation who believe in probity in public life. 


These are not the votes which were casted induced by the childish wish that "My vote should not go waste. I will vote only the winning canditate". Rather these are the votes casted by the responsible citizens of this country who believe in the concept of Welfare State, Communal Harmony, Inclusive Democracy etc.


Therefore we should thank all of these noble souls who prefered us and voted us. We should do everything to consolidate them and save their good-will. We have to work harder and harder. We have to work  indefatiguably. 


Besides we have to analyse the reasons for this debacle. What went wrong? Why did we fail? What to be done? How to rectify, reform and reach out? 


At the same time all those brothers and sisters who worked tirelessly deserve praise and acclaim. They have spent their time. They have spared their money. They have done everything. May Allah accept their endeavours and reward in excess. 


Another point is that these brothers and sisters have become known figures in their respective areas. In a way this is capital to us. And this capital if invested properly would give rich dividends in near future. Insha Allah. The urgency and the need of contiuous work and struggle is undisputable. Allah-o-Akbar.

இந்தத் தோல்வி ஏன்

வெல்ஃபேர் பார்ட்டி ஆஃப் இந்தியாவின் நல்லாதரவுடன் ஜமாஅத்தே இஸ்லாமி ஹிந்தின் நல்லாசியுடன் உள்ளாட்சித் தேர்தலில் நின்ற இயக்க சகோதரர்களும் சகோதரி ஒருவரும் தோற்றுப் போய் இருக்கின்றார்கள்.
களத்தில் நின்ற வேட்பாளர்களில் ஒரே ஒருவர் கூட வெற்றி பெறவில்லை. ஓரளவுக்கு எதிர்பார்க்கப்பட்ட வாணியம்பாடி இஸ்மாயில் சாகிபும் தோற்றுவிட்டார்.
 
ஒருபக்கம் இது வருத்தத்தை அளித்தாலும் மறு பக்கம் இந்தக் கன்னி முயற்சிக்குக் கிடைத்திருக்கின்ற ஆதரவு மகிழ்ச்சி அளிக்கின்றது. நம்முடைய வேட்பாளர்களுக்குக் கிடைத்திருக்கின்ற ஒவ்வொரு வாக்கும் மதிப்பு மிக்க வாக்குகளாகும்.
 
கட்சியின் மீதுள்ள விசுவாசத்தின் காரணமாக விழுந்த வாக்குகள் அல்ல அவை. புதியதொரு விடியலுக்காக மக்கள் அளித்துள்ள விசா பத்திரங்கள் அவை.
 
மதத்தின் அடிப்படையிலோ சாதிச் சார்பு நிலையால் உந்தப்பட்டடோ பதிவான வாக்குகள் அல்ல அவை. மக்கள் பணம் மக்களுக்கே என்கிற சிந்தனைக்கு ஆதரவாக எழுச்சியுடன் வாக்குச் சாவடிகளுக்கு வந்த நல்லவர்களின் ஆதரவு பத்திரங்கள் அவை.
 
பணத்துக்காக விழுந்த பருக்கைகள் அல்ல அவை. நல்லவர்களின் சேவை இந்த நாட்டுக்குத் தேவை என்கிற நல்லெண்ணத்திற்குக் கிடைத்த ஆதரவுத் தூண்கள் அவை.
 
வோட்டு வீணாகக் கூடாது; நான் போடுகின்ற ஆள் ஜெயிக்க வேண்டும் என்கிற குழந்தைத்தனமான சிந்தனையுடன் பதிவான வாக்குகள் அல்ல அவை. மக்கள் நல அரசாங்கம், அனைத்துத் தரப்பினரையும் அரவணைத்துச் செல்கின்ற மக்களாட்சி, சமூக நல்லிணக்கம் ஆகிய உயர்ந்த கொள்கைகளுக்கு ஆதரவான நல்லவர்களின் முத்திரை முழக்கங்கள் அவை.
 
ஆக, நமக்கு ஆதரவாக வாக்களித்த இந்த நல்லிதயங்களுக்கு நாம் நன்றி செலுத்த வேண்டும். நம் மீது அவர்களுக்கு இருக்கின்ற நம்பிக்கையைத் தக்க வைத்துக்கொள்ள அனைத்தையும் செய்ய வேண்டும். இன்னும் அதிகமாக உழைக்க வேண்டும். இன்னும் அதிகமாகப் பாடுபட வேண்டும்.
 
அதே சமயம் இந்தத் தோல்வி ஏன் என்பதைக் குறித்து நாம் அனைவரும் யோசிக்க வேண்டிய, ஆய்வு செய்ய வேண்டியவர்களாக இருக்கின்றோம்.
 
முதலில் இந்தத் தேர்தல் களத்தில் கன்னி முயற்சியாகக் களத்தில் நின்ற சகோதரர்களும் சகோதரிகளும் பாராட்டுக்குரியவர்கள். இறைவன் அவர்களுக்கு ஒரு அருமையான வாய்ப்பைக் கொடுத்தான். அதனை அவர்கள் மிகச் சிறப்பாகப் பயன்படுத்திக் கொண்டார்கள். அல்லாஹ்விடம் அவர்களுக்கு அவர்களுடைய உழைப்புக்காக, முயற்சிகளுக்காக, செலவிட்ட நேரத்திற்காக, பொருளுக்காக திண்ணமாக நற்கூலியும் நல்லருளும் உண்டு.
 
மக்களைச் சந்திப்பதற்கும் மக்களின் பிரச்னைகளை அறிந்துகொள்வதற்கும் மக்களின் எண்ணங்களைத் தெரிந்துகொள்வதற்கும் இந்தத் தேர்தல் ஒரு வாய்ப்பாக அமைந்துவிட்டது. நம்முடைய வேட்பாளர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான மக்களைச் சந்தித்தார்கள். அவர்கள் அனைவருமே 

இப்போது மக்கள் மனங்களில் ஒரளவுக்கு அறிமுகமானவர்களாக ஆகிவிட்டார்கள். இந்த அறிமுகமும் பெயரும்தான் இனி வருங்காலத்தில் பெருவெற்றி பெறுவதற்கும் முத்திரை பதிப்பதற்கும் மூலதனமாகும். இதனை வைத்து நாம் தொடர்ந்து பணியாற்ற வேண்டிய தேவையையும் அவசியத்தையும் யாருமே மறுக்க முடியாது.

ஆகுமான அனுமதிக்கப்பட்ட வழிமுறைகளைக் கையாண்டு தோற்றுப் போவதை 'வெற்றி' என்றே நாங்கள் கருதுகின்றோம். ஹராமான தடுக்கப்பட்ட வழிமுறைகளைக் கையாண்டு வெற்றிப் பெறுவதை 'தோல்வி' என்றே நாங்கள் நினைக்கின்றோம். 

சர்வாதிகாரத்தால் இந்த நாட்டுக்கு ஏற்படுகின்ற இழப்புக்கும் நஷ்டத்துக்கும்  இணையானது தான் வோட்டை பணம் கொடுத்து விலைக்கு வாங்குவதாலும் போலி வோட் கள்ள வோட் போடுவதால் ஏற்படுகின்ற இழப்பும நஷ்டமும்.

கள்ள வோட் போட்டும் பணம் கொடுத்து வோட்டை விலைக்கு வாங்கியும் ஜெயிப்பவர்களால் எந்த நன்மையையும் கிடைக்காது.

Do you hear கர்ஜனை  of the lion? I received this photo taken in a mobile thru a friend. The oldman with the mike is Janab P A Syed Muhammad Sahib of Coimbatore. He has been attached with the Islamic Movement for the past fifty years. He has served the Movement in various capacities. He has been the circle Incharge, unit president and district organisor. More than thirty brothers and sisters of his family (sons, daughters, grand sons, grand daughters) are active workers of Islamiya Iyakkam. He is seen here wielding the megaphone canvassing for the canditate contesting in Corporation election in Coimbatore. A placard depicting the symbol of the canditate (Globe) is lying beside him. You can also see a flag of SIO too. Curiously there is no sign of the flag of Welfare Party of India.

Eleven brothers and sisters are in the fray this time. In the last election Br T Muhammad Ismail of Vaniyambadi got elected as MC in the Municipality of Vaniyambadi. He is the first member of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind in the whole of India to get elected to a Municipality. Now this time Br A. Syed Nazeer is contesting for the Municipal Chairmanship in Krishnagiri. If he gets elected he would be the first Municipal Chairman of the Islamic Movement in Tamil Nadu Insha Allah.

மௌலானா சையத் ஜலாலுத்தீன் உமரி: தற்போது உள்ள ஸிஸ்டம் இஸ்லாத்திற்கு அப்பாற்பட்டது, அசத்தியமானது என்பதிலும் இந்த ஸிஸ்டத்தை மாற்றுவதற்காக ஜமாஅத் பாடுபட வேண்டும் என்பதில் எந்தவிதமான கருத்துவேறுபாடும் இல்லை.

ஆனால் இப்போது நம்முடைய விவாதத்தில் இருக்கின்ற விவகாரம் இந்திய முஸ்லிம்கள் எதிர்கொண்டுள்ள பல்வேறு பிரச்னைகளுடன் தொடர்புடையதாகும். அவர்கள் சிறுபான்மையினராக இருப்பதால் இந்தப் பிரச்னைகள் இன்னும் அதிகமாகக் கூர்மையடைந்துவிட்டுள்ளன.

தேர்தல் அரசியலில் பங்கேற்பது மூலமாக முஸ்லிம்கள் எதிர்கொண்டுள்ள இந்தப் பிரச்னைகளைத் தீர்க்க முடியுமா  என்பதுதான் இங்கு எழுகின்ற கேள்வி.

இதற்குத் தீர்வுகாண்பதில் இருவேறு கருத்துகள் காணப்படுகின்றன என்பது உண்மையே. அதனைத்தான் நீங்களும் சுட்டிக்காட்டியிருக்கின்றீர்கள். தேர்தல் அரசியலில் பங்கேற்க வேண்டும்; அது ஒட்டுமொத்தமாக நாட்டுக்கும் சமுதாயத்துக்கும் நன்மை அளிப்பதாக அமையும் என்பதுதான் பெரும்பாலோரின் கருத்து. இது தொடர்பாக என்னுடைய கருத்தை வெளிப்படுத்த வேண்டும் எனக் கேட்டிருக்கின்றீர்கள். உங்களுடைய இந்தக் கேள்விக்கு நான் பதில் அளிப்பது பொருத்தமாக இராது. என்னுடைய சொந்தக் கருத்து இதற்குச் சாதகமாகவும் இருக்கலாம்; எதிராகவும் இருக்கலாம். ஒரு பொறுப்பாளர் என்கிற முறையில் நான் இந்த விவாதத்தில் விழக்கூடாது.

அண்மையில் நடந்த ஜமாஅத்தின் மத்திய பிரதிநிதிகள் சபை கூட்டத்தில் பேசியபோது ‘நம் நாட்டின் அரசியல் அமைப்புச் சட்டத்தில் செக்குலரிஸம், சோஷலிஸம், டெமாக்ரஸி ஆகிய சொற்கள் ஒரு தனிப் பொருளில்தான் ஆளப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன. சோஷலிஸம் குறித்து நாட்டின் உச்ச நீதிமன்றம் ‘சோஷலிஸம் என்கிற சொல்  தொடக்கக்காலத்தில் எந்தப் பொருளில் ஆளப்பட்டதோ அந்தப் பொருளில் நாம் அதனை ஆள்வதில்லை. அதற்கு மாறாக சமூக நீதி என்கிற பொருளில்தான் தற்போது ஆளப்படுகின்றது’ எனக் கருத்து தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

செக்குலரிஸத்தைப் பொருத்தவரை ரொம்பக் காலத்திற்கு முன்பே அப்போதைய அகில இந்தியத் தலைவர் மௌலானா அபுல் லைஸ் இஸ்லாஹி நத்வி மிகத் தெளிவாக எடுத்துரைத்துவிட்டார். அந்தக் காலத்தில் டாக்டர் சையத் மஹ்மூத் ‘செக்குலரிஸம் குறித்து உங்களுடைய கருத்து என்ன?’ என வினவிய போது மௌலானா அபுல் லைஸ் இஸ்லாஹி நத்வி அவர்கள் ‘செக்குலரிஸம் என்பதற்கு இந்த நாட்டில் எந்தவொரு மதத்தின் ஆட்சியும் இருக்காது; அனைத்து மதத்தினரும் சமமாக நடத்தப்படுவார்கள்; அனைவருக்கும் தத்தமது மதத்தின் அடிப்படையில் செயல்படுவதற்கு முழுமையான சுதந்திரம் உண்டு’ என்பதுதான் பொருள் எனில் நாங்கள் அந்த செக்குலரிஸத்திற்கு எதிரானவர்கள் அல்லர். ஆனால் செக்குலரிஸம் என்பதற்கு இறைவனின் ஆட்சியையும் இறையாண்மையையும் இறைவனின் அதிகாரத்தையும் மறுப்பதுதான் பொருள் எனில் நாங்கள் அதனை எதிர்ப்போம்’ என்று நறுக்குத்தெறித்தாற்போல் பதிலளித்தார். பிற்பாடு மத்திய ஆலோசனைக் குழுக் கூட்டத்திலும் இது குறித்து விவாதிக்கப்பட்டு மௌலானாவின் விளக்கம் உறுதி செய்யப்பட்டது.

ஜனநாயகம் தொடர்பாகவும் இதே நிலைப்பாடுதான். நான் இதனைக் குறித்து எத்தனையோ தடவை எழுதியிருக்கின்றேன். இறைவனின் அதிகாரத்திற்குப் பதிலாக மனிதர்களின் அதிகாரத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொள்வதுதான் ஜனநாயகம். இதனை நாங்கள் தவறான சிந்தனை என்றே சொல்கின்றோம். ஆனால் ஜனநாயகத்திற்கு இருக்கின்ற சிறப்பு என்னவெனில் அது கருத்து சுதந்திரத்தையும் விருப்பம் போல் செயல்படுகின்ற சுதந்திரத்தையும் வழங்குவதுதான். இந்தச் சுதந்திரமான சூழல் அழைப்புப் பணிக்கும் பரப்புரை செய்வதற்கும் சமூக சீர்திருத்தப் பணிகளுக்கும் களம் அமைத்துத் தருகின்றது. இதனால் தான் இத்தகைய சுதந்திரத்தையும் உரிமைகளையும் மறுக்கின்ற, ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட பண்பாட்டையும் கலாச்சாரத்தையும் நாட்டு மக்கள் அனைவர் மீதும் திணிக்க நாடுகின்ற மற்ற ஸிஸ்டங்களோடு ஒப்பிடும்போது ஜனநாயகத்தின் அடிப்படையிலான சிஸ்டத்தை நாங்கள் விரும்புகின்றோம்.

நமது நாட்டில் ஜனநாயகம் நிலைபெற்றுள்ளது. இதிலிருந்து பயனீட்டுவதற்கு நாம் முயல வேண்டும். இஸ்லாத்தை நல்ல முறையில் அறிமுகம் செய்வதற்கும் முயல வேண்டும். இஸ்லாத்தைக் குறித்து இங்குக் காணப்படுகின்ற தவறான கருத்துகள், எண்ணங்களைக் களைவதற்கும் முயல வேண்டும். இஸ்லாத்தை மேற்கொள்வதில் நாட்டின் வெற்றியும் உலகத்தின் நன்மையும் அடங்கியிருக்கின்றது என்பதைத் தெளிவுபடுத்த வேண்டும். எந்தவொரு மதமோ அல்லது மார்க்கமோ அரசாங்க மதமாக அறிவிக்கப்படுவதற்கு ஜனநாயகம் தடையாக இருக்கும் என்றும் சிலர் சொல்கின்றார்கள். ஜனநாயக வழியில் செயல்பட்டு இந்தத் தடையை அகற்றுவதற்கான பொருத்தமான வழிவகைகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட வேண்டும் என்றே நான் நினைக்கின்றேன்.

Welfare Party Chief Mujtaba Farooq returns to Aurangabad

Veteran Islamist leader, Former Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and newly elected leader of Welfare Party of India Moulana Muhammad Mujtaba Farooq Sahib was given rousing welcome in Aurangabad airport. It was his first visit to his hometown after the formation of the Welfare Party of India.

Cameras blinked uninterruptedly. Bright garlands made up of fresh jasmine and samandhi flowers landed in his neck one by one. I am not sure whether Long Live Mujtaba Farooq slogans filled the air or not.

The spectacle is breathtaking. Oh..! What a sight..!

Welfare Party of India launched in New Delhi

A Christian priest reciting the Gayatri Mantra at the launch of a new political party at the helm of which are top functionaries of the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind. A perfect secular backdrop for the leadership of the Welfare Party of India (WPI), which was launched on Monday, to assert that it was neither a Muslim party nor the political arm of the Jamaat.

Anxious not be seen as a Muslim-exclusive party, the brainchild of the Jamaat which took shape on Monday, over two years after the idea first germinated, has non-Muslims, including a Catholic priest, in its ranks.

The first challenge for the WPI would be the forthcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. Farooque. addressing a press conference after the launch, said the party would join hands with like-minded political organisations.

Ilyas rejected the notion that WPI was a Jamaat venture and insisted it was a secular party upholding the principles of justice, freedom and equality and seeking empowerment of the weak, oppressed and marginalised sections.

A national level political party, Welfare Party of India (WPI) was formally launched today at a political convention here in the national capital. The convention was attended by several civil society representatives and hundreds of delegates from across the country.

“It’s not for fun and power that we entered politics. It’s only when everybody whom we trusted and became dependent upon, betrayed us and considered it’s their due right to oppress us. We felt that now we can’t continue with this kind of political system,” said Mujtaba Farooque, president of the party.

The criminalization, communalization, commercialization and the sectarianization of politics are the biggest evils of our prevailing political culture and the WPI is committed to start a new era of value-based politics, added Farooque. “We might be late in terms of our arrival on the political stage but we promise you that with our genuine and sincere efforts we will try to create an alternative political culture,” added Farooque who is also the general secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind.

The WPI is the result of coming together of several concerned civil society representatives belonging to different backgrounds, communities, classes and social and political groups. Prominent of them include Father Abraham Joseph, Lalitha Nair, a former Karnataka minister and the prominent social activist from the state, Zafarul Islam Khan, Editor, The Milli Gazette fortnightly, Ilyas Azmi, former MP and senior leader of BSP, Prof. Rama Panchal, an eminent social activist from Madhya Pradesh, Prof. Sohail Ahmad Khan, former chairman, Bihar Minority Commission, Prof. Rama Surya Rao, an academician besides several others.

The convention was also attended by dalit leaders including Tej Singh, president, Ambedkar Samaj Party who offered his full support and cooperation to the WPI in future.

With Mujtaba Farooque as its president, the Welfare Party of India has also got five vice-presidents -- Ilyas Azmi, Father Abraham Joseph, Maulana Abdul Wahab Khilji, Dr. Zafarul Islam Khan and Mrs. Lalitha Nair.

The five general secretaries of the WPI are Dr. SQR Ilyas, Prof. Sohail Ahmad Khan, Prof. Rama Panchal, Mrs. Khalida Parveen and Mr. PC Hamza. Mr. Abdus Salam M has been selected as its treasurer. The party has started with just 203 members but will soon start a membership drive across the country.

The occasion saw lots of speeches about ideal state of politics. SQR Ilyas, general secretary of WPI, for instance said that, “We wanted to show that even an ordinary person on the street can empower him/herself by becoming part of alternative democratic politics and that’s why launched WPI.”

Mujtaba Farooque, president of WPI said that “at present there are only two categories of people living in India, one is getting poorer day by day. It’s a class which can’t spend even 20 rupees per day and the other is getting only richer and richer. We want to change this oppressive process of marginalization by bringing about change through political participation.”

The Welfare Party aims at realizing a value based welfare state governed by the principles of justice, freedom, equality and fraternity. It will strive for the establishment of the welfare state by recognizing and realizing the right to livelihood.
 

The other thing high on the agenda of WPI is facilitating “equitable, just and inclusive growth” besides bringing about empowerment of the weak and oppressed through “affirmative action realizing the principle of social justice.”

WPI leaders specifically emphasized the protection of cultural diversity by providing full opportunities to different cultures to thrive and realize the “notion of linguistic, geographical and cultural federalism.

With a middle class and media led campaign against corruption, the disease also found mention in the party press note. WPI claimed to stand against any kind of corruption and will advocate for “mechanisms of accountability and transparency at all levels of public life.”

Sending a positive message to the fairer sex, the party’s aims and objectives specifically talk about women rights in unique words. It mentions facilitating “equal growth and development opportunities for women” so that “their femininity is respected and protected in its true spirit.”

Mujtaba Farooque elected as the chief of Welfare Party of India

Mujtaba Farooque of Aurangabad has been elected as the president of Welfare Party of India. When the nation is at cross roads, here comes the good news. He is one of the dynamic leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and has served the Islamic movement in various capacities. 


He belongs to Aurangabad and was attracted to the Islamic movement in his student days. Since then he has never turned back and has devoted his entire life for the mission of establishing Deen - Way of life provided by God - in all walks of life. He is known for his organising capabilities and has been state chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maharashtra for some time. He has been actively involved in various socio, economic and political causes. He was there in Dharna against the blatant, cold blooded murder of innocent youth in Batla Nagar. He was there in Assam during last Assembly election organising the tedious task of consolidating votes of the weaker sections for the common good. He has always been in the forefront in the struggle towards a just, peaceful and harmonious society in India. Let us pray he succeeds in his mission.

On the world map, India is a happening place now. Our successful experiment of an independent democratic society has become an exemplary model in itself. Our economic growth is attracting worldwide attention. The world is in awe of the talents of our scientists, technocrats, and professionals. The Indians are consistently escalating their ratio among the wealthiest individuals in the world.

But the tragedy of this splendid advancement is that its fruits are viciously confined to a tiny section of the society. Despite this unprecedented growth, the majority of our people are not able to fulfil even their basic needs. We didn’t fight the war of independence just to get rid of the British. The objective was not to replace the white masters by black masters.
