A shocking satellite tour of the world's biggest slums

Dharavi Mumbai where one million people live

Booming urban populations have seen poverty on the rise in some of the world's biggest cities. Of the 3.49 billion people that now live in cities, 827.6 million are slum dwellers, according to a UN Habitat Report.
Global slums can be vastly different in nature. Some are working-class neighborhoods that have been torn up by gang wars like the Petare slum in Venezuela. Others like Dharavi in Mumbai, a mini-city that operates as a recycling hub and has a booming leather industry, are a permanent fixture.

Startling Facts : How Huge Indian Tech is..!

India, and particularly Indian tech, is blowing up.
But it's easy to lose track of just how big, and how fast the Indian market is growing. Thankfully this great presentation by Simon Kemp, via TheNextWeb, gives us some perspective.
The most striking theme is this: not only is India huge, but it's growing like gangbusters too.
So for example India now has 100 million internet users, almost half as big as the US. But unlike the US that's just 8% of the population and growing by 25% a year.
The report is full of great stats and facts like that.

An exciting report by Pascal -Emmanuel Gobry in Businessinsider. Here
